The Oslo Philharmonic is lamenting the loss of Ingrid Røynesdal, who has captained the ship for ten years. She is going on to run the national museum.
She said: ‘We have one of the most sought-after chief conductors in the world, a fantastic international position, brilliant tours ahead of us and a very good audience situation in Oslo. In other words, the organization is well equipped for the future, and after ten years as a leader it is natural to pass on the baton.’
