The soprano has withdrawn from a controversial upcoming February 7 performance on behalf of the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation in central Italy.
The official reason: ‘an inflammation of the oracl cavity’.
The town of Arezzo had been threeatened with further pro-Ukraine demonstrations.
The concert has been rescheduled for February 17. Her accompanist will be Barenboim’s wife, Elena Bashkirova.
