Biography

Angelina Gavrilova is born in Sofia, Bulgaria as daughter of the famous Bulgarian classical ballet dancer Asen Gavrilov.
She receives her education at the National School for Dance in the class of prof. Kalina Bogoeva and at the National Music Academy in Sofia.
Beside her study in Sofia, she takes part in master classes in the Summer Ballet Academy in Varna.
Since 1996 she is a soloist of the only company for contemporary dance in Bulgaria – “Arabesque”, where she has the opportunity to work with some of the best Bulgarian and international choreographers like Wayne Mc Gregor, Liz Lee, Luce Bui, Boryana Sechanova, Mila Iskrenova, Anna Doneva, Oleya Pantikina, Ivo Dimchev, Antoniya Dokeva, Margarita Gradechlieva and many others.
In addition, she takes part in different productions in the National Theater “Ivan Vazov” in Sofia and also in some TV productions.
In 2007 and 2009 Angelina Gavrilova is invited to make the choreography of the international productions of “Don Pasquale” by Donizetti and “Le Nozze di Figaro” by Mozart in State Opera – Rousse.
In the last few years Angelina started working as a choreographer in numerous productions in Bulgaria, Turkey and Austria, and she also received some prizes for her choreography.
At present she serves also as a contemporary dance teacher in the National School for Dance and the National Music Academy in Sofia.
Angelina Gavrilova is married to Bulgarian conductor Nayden Todorov and has a daughter – Anastasia.
